Based in San Francisco, Roger Spitz is the President of Techistential (global Foresight Strategy & Futures Intelligence practice) and founding Chairman of the Disruptive Futures Institute (Think Tank to help you understand, anticipate and navigate disruption, as well as drive and thrive on it).
Roger sits on a number of Advisory Boards of Companies, Venture Capital funds & Academic institutions worldwide. Techistential’s renowned Board, Governance & Investor practice works with leaders and their organizations globally to capitalize on disruption as a springboard to drive value. Roger is a professional member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) in the US (Governance & Board Practices), Fellow (FCA) of the ICAEW in the UK, and Council Member of GLG.
He has two decades leading investment banking businesses, advising CEOs, Founders, Boards and Shareholders of companies globally on how to future-proof their business. As the former Head of Technology M&A with BNP Paribas, Roger advised on over 50 transactions across the world with overall deal value of $25bn, and which raised $2bn in capital. He launched the bank’s US Mergers & Acquisitions practice in San Francisco and spearheaded its European Technology investment banking franchise in London and Paris.
With an early career in Venture Capital, Roger remains an ardent supporter of the venture-backed ecosystems both as a deep tech investor and an advisor to several Incubators, Accelerators and VC funds in Silicon Valley (including Berkeley’s SkyDeck, Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center and CITRIS Foundry Innovation Incubator).
Roger is a contributing writer and member of MIT Technology Review, and a member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF, Washington), Foresight Institute (San Francisco), Institute for the Future (Palo Alto) and World Futures Studies Federation (Paris).
Roger is an advisor, writer and speaker on Artificial Intelligence, and has invested in a number of AI startups. He Chairs the Disruptive Futures Institute’s Center for Artificial Intelligence, is a professional member of IEEE, of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) in Palo Alto, and of The Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence & Simulation of Behaviour (AISB) in the UK. He also holds a certificate in AI & Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management and Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL).
Roger has lived and worked in 10 different cities across 3 continents, and is also fluent in French.
